Orvis is a word that can generate quite a thread around here. That's
beacause some of their stuff is very good, some overpriced, and all
generally marketed toward "sports" (wealthy neophytes). Still, some Orvis
rods I've seen are as nice as any anywhere, and they have good resale value.

I'm more of a local flyshop guy myself, great places to pick up some locally
tied flies, other stuff your gonna buy anyway. I figger if they don't have,
I prolly didn't really need it anyway.

Personally, I like Cabelas a lot more than Orvis.
