I take it you never met Jim before the trip??? I don't think I'd take a 9
day float with just one other person that I hadn't even met. An asshole or
an incompatible person could have made the trip a nightmare. I'm glad it
worked out for you.

How did you find and decide on the Arolik? It's not a very well known
river.

I agree. I just returned from a Canadian fishing trip, and the only other
guy in the lodge other than my wife and I remarked that the camp where he
normally stays is full of a**h****, to which I thought, "yeah, and one less
than normal". Tom is a brave soul to take pot luck on a 9 day fishing
partner, although I will say that 95% of the folks I have met at fishing
camps have been folks I would gladly fish with again. That 5% though would
be almost enough to make me hang up my rod forever.
