My favorite spinning reel for a ML to Medium Heavy rod is a Shimano
Symetre 2500. I have never used a better reel, and that includes a
Stella (I hated it because of the lack of a back reel!).

I know a friend of my swears by the Shimano Stradic, and another swears
by Okuma.
