Yes, and no. In general I would say yes, but Lamiglas, Shimano, and
G-Loomis expensive to very expensive rods with very fragile tips. Don't
know about a lot of other manufacturers. St Croix seems to be lighter and
tougher than say the cheap Quantum rods. However the Quantum Tour rods of
comparable price are very light and durable also.
Also, the speed and power of the rod certainly will make a difference in its
durability.
