Default Yooper '06 - Fly

Well, I guess I should say a word or two about size. In the early
days, I used to tie caddis on everything from 22s to 4s. Over the
years, and quite without any conscious plan, I slowly wittled the
selection down. These days I rarely use anything but 14s. Bodies are
sparsely dubbed, and a I use very fine copper wire, counter-wound to
protect the hackle. This has made them much more durable without
significantly affecting their bouyancy.

Will tie some. 14? Damn, most of mine are 16-18. Except for the
October Orange Caddis thats a 6X long #2. Hmm, looking in my box, I've
only got two dozen of those left. I've been slacking off on my tying.
