wouldn't get to see Harry as much. Did I mention I would have to leave

Wrong part of the state for me. I have fished all over the north west part
of the state. Every farm pond and borrow pit of any size has bass in it.
There are lots of borrow pits on private property along the Ohio Turnpike
that could reward you with private undisturbed fishing if you can get
permission of the land owners.

Sunfish and bullheads are in the tiniest of ponds. Drainage ditches will
often hold carp and catfish in the deep holes. Quite often under bridges
there will be a deeper hole. I imagine any larger drainage that doesn't
freeze solid will also hold bass. The Vermillion, Rocky, Black, and Mohigan
rivers have all been fun places to go. I have canoed/fished the Mohigan and
the Vermillion rivers.

Lake Erie of course is reknowned around the country as a smallmouth fishery.
Certainly I've caught plenty of big tasty walleye out off Marblehead, and
perch literally by the barrel full. I hear there are some good trout
streams/rivers in the north east part of the state and some that have good
salmon and steelhead runs. White bass too are plentiful in Lake Erie with
true back to back double headers very common fishing any warm water
discharge in the fall.

Its a very wet state (not as wet as some) but it seems that anyplace
somebody digs a hole in the ground a pond will form.

When I lived there I used to walk across the street from my grandparents
farm and fish a small pond for a greenhouse company. We always caught
bullheads and bluegill in it. In the next little town over they had a large
recreational fishing pond in a public park. During the day I would walk
around and talk to lots of people who weren't catching anything,.but on the
few occassions where I rode my bike up there before sunrise I caught plenty
bass feeding over obvious spots like gravel bars and stuff like that.

I think you will find Ohio has great numbers of varied fishing
opportunities.
