Default Penns TR

I arrived at Hemlock Acres Thursday morning (10/12) early - 8:30am.
Dropped stuff off at the trailer, plugged in the electric and was in
the Feathered Hook by 9:15. Got some flies and I was able to start
fishing down from the bridge by 10:00. The water was low and clear
and 55 degrees. Not much hatching and the mix of sun and clouds made
fishing tough. I got skunked. I tried the green caddis pupa and even
a woolly bugger. I met some other fisherman who had similar
experience.

On Friday I fished Spring and did okay on a size 20 black midge. I had
to fish in the shady patches because Friday too, was very sunny.

Friday evening I fished with Justin at Ingleby. As we were putting our
gear on in the parking area I saw 6 or 7 rise forms in less than a
minute. I tried a size 20 BWO and bingo! On the bottom we used a size
18 white midge. Between the 2 of us we caught about 13 in about 90
minutes.

Saturday was spent doing some of the prep for winterizing the trailer
but Justin and I headed off to Weikert about 2 PM. THE BRIDGE AT
CHERRY RUN IS OUT so you need to go around. We fished up stream.
There were a few fish rising and a couple were caught but more action
was encountered underneath with the white midge.

I spent Sunday winterizing, driving home in major football traffic and
thinking about the grannoms of April.
