and it gets into the 100's often in the summer. I was thinking heat

100 degrees shouldn't touch it. I leave my rods in the trunk and back
seat of the car all the time, for month at a time. It gets over100
degree, I know. I didn't think about that, when I first posted. I don't
think it could get hot enough even in a shipping container to warp it.
Though I could be wrong.
I'm wondering if it was a combination of overheating and the tube sitting so
that the top section was on its tip. Do people pay any attention to how they
store their tubes? On their sides, or with the butt end downward (especially
for the tip section)?
