During January I'm traveling with my camper down the Baja Peninsula,
taking the ferry from la Paz to Mazatlan, traveling south through
Puerto Vallarta to Caleta de Campos, exploring the highlands, and
returning north along the Pacific coast.

This isn't mainly a fishing trip, but there MUST be some very good
fishing (flyfishing or otherwise) along the way. I'm taking a 7-weight
and 9-weight rods and a heavy-duty sal****er spinning rig.

If anyone here has had some experience fishing Baja and/or the Pacific
Mexico coast I'd appreciate any useful information.

If you're coming back up the Pacific Coast of Baja, there's a place
called Cabo Punta Banda about 20 miles south of Encinada. The surf
fishing there was very good when I was there about 25 years ago.
