Sorry to offend or go against your newsgroups terms of posting. To risk
being pedantic, it's not an ebay product it is my product that had
great use of over the summer. I'm now trying to clear my student loan
and if selling a product that I don't expect to use again for a couple
of years will wipe £100 off of it then great.
I posted this first on uk.rec.cycling and wasn't sure whether anybody
would be offended by it. The only response was that it was ok, but the
netiquette is to prefix the subject with FA (for auction).
Apologies once again.
Well the charter to UK.Rec.Sailing allows posting of private ads, but
disallows trade ads. There is no mention of e-bay and I don't see how
use of e-bay automatically makes it 'trade'.

activity in Britain, Eire and European waters. Posts from dinghy

Open Meetings, race accounts, events and issues affecting sailors in

Advertising
Short announcements (less than 50 lines) of events relevant to
readership. For Sale or Want-To-Buy announcements from non-commercial
posters welcomed; blatant off-topic or commercial advertising not
required.
Binaries
Must not be posted in this group: however references to FTP material
and Web sites are welcomed
Other groups may have different rules.
The only bit of general etiquette you may have offended is that you
shouldn't post ads to groups you don't use.
So on the whole I wouldn't worry too much.
