Btw, in case you weren't making light of it, but I seem to recall long
term Vicodin use is associated with hearing loss. Was that the Rush
thing, maybe?

....I believe that was Oxycontin that Rush was ingesting. My hearing
problem started quite some time ago, aided and abetted by jet engine
noise I'm sure.
