Bill....I fish as far south in the delta as you can go, not alot of
current, shallow water, and alot of cover, weed beds, blow downs, bamboo
and tulie thickets in the water and alot of rip-rap along the levee
banks. Grant Line Canel, Fabian/Bell Canel, Paradise Cut and Old River
is my water of choice. Good luck on those Steelhead, years ago I used to
fish the American River for Salmon, Steelhead and American Shad, but
approaching 70 years old at the speed of light so stay closer to home..
