Today I was driving around on business in an area that I do not
normally cover. Yes, I have a GPS. Yes, I know how to use it. Needless
to say, I got lost. This is what I found:

The pictures are a (poorly) self-made panoramic.
This place is not on ANY map I have seen. I do not know the age of
this place. Talking to locals, there are fish in it. I am going to
call the municipality tomorrow to see what local regulations there
are, if any for fishing this puddle. It has about 4'-6' of visibility,
slight green stain and the feeders that I saw leading to it still had
lots of healthy moss & snot grass. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Old sand and gravel quarry?
The scale is misleading. Look more closely at it.It looks smaller than some I've seen and larger than others. Some
have cliffs, some don't. Some have feeder creeks, some don't. Some
are now great recreation areas, you guessed it didn't ya, and some
aren't. Still looks like an old sand/gravel quarry to me.
How bout it Harry, what is it?

This is odd. I didn't see any of these replies in my regular news
reader, yet here they are plain as day in Google groups. Go figure...
Nevertheless, it's an old quarry of some sort. Very sheer drops-offs
into deep water from every vantage point I walked (from the picture POV
to the buildings visible on the right). I am sure if I take more time I
will be able to find the roadbed that leads into the depths. I think it
will be interesting to find out the history & details of this puddle.
