Just an FYI, a buddy of mine snapped his Winston trying to land a 15 inch
rainbow with the technique you mentioned above. This of course after we had
all told him to keep his hand on the cork or he was going to bust his rod...

The Breenberg Grab sounds like another way to bust a rod to me...
