Several choices and several species, I assume you mean trout? Starting
with a stocked tailwater in the immediate area and going north and
west gets you into real water. Personally, I would head towards
Brevard NC and the Davidson River getting help from the Davidson River
Outfitters or go towards N. GA and the Chattooga (reciprical agreement
between SC and GA for licenses)

But there is also tidal salt water fishing 2 1/2 hours east if that is
what you want and of course plenty of warm water opportunities.
