Of course the rechargeable NIMH are the best, but any will work if your
batteries die while away from a charger, You get around 500 photos on a
charge of NIMH
I have a 1 Gig SD card in it now, from one of my other cameras, but I will
be receiving a 4 Gig 150X card today

The reason I asked.
I have run across a lot of great deals on cameras with some pretty
impressive specs in the last couple years. Unfortunately a lot of them use
a proprietary rechargeable battery pack. Basically guaranteeing that it has
a short use to paper weight cycle.
