Just because this group is lacking some life and some of the regulars need
to show they are alive.

What do you do as a non boater to gain an advantage and catch some fish?
We have all been there, outfished by your boater for one reason or
another. What do you do when it seems you just can't get a fish away from
your boater. Tips? ideas? suggestions? what's your opinion?

If you were/are always a boater, what have non boaters done to best you?
if they did?

Since the few Pro Ams I fish are draw team format, and the rest of the
tournaments are buddy team format I am usually all about maximizing the
catch for both anglers in the boat. (I may fish some split format
tournament next season.

Still I fun fish with buddies from time to time as both a back seater and a
front seater. The last two or three tournaments I fished back seat I just
threw a totally different lure in all the same holes, and of course any that
were a better presentation to the rear. I got the big fish doing that my
last two or three back seat outings.

I fished with Harold Wah (out of his boat) once last year. I caught most of
the fish we weighed in by throwing in right behind him. Under the
circumstances I think he was getting their attention and I was capitolizing
on it. We were actually both throwing the same bait on a flipping stick.
The only difference is I was using a slightly heavier weight to punch
through/into the underlying grassbed in gin clear water.

In the Yuma Pro Am tournaments I run I sure wish my backseater would outfish
me more often. I try everything I can to help them contribute to the bag.

To add to your question, "As a boater what can you do to help your
backseater fish with you to make a better team and have a better overall
team finish?"
