As we all know, Nebraskans are pretty much full of it and the guy at the
table certainly was. There's a lot of good fishing in Sandhill lakes
but almost zip for trout fishing. There are a few trout around. A
classmate of my wife's at Valentine used to hold the state record for
Browns and he caught the fish below the dam at Merrit reservior I
believe. The largest bass I ever caught was in a ranch pond about 50
miles south of Valentine close to where my wife grew up.
