Can anyone suggest a good relatively less expensive source for quality
flies?
If you have the time, there are few flies easier to tie than wooly
buggers.
I'd suggest you as the relatively inexpensive source. It's almost *the*
beginner fly tyer fly. If you need an excuse to start tying, you could
just
about save the price of a decent vise tying them yourself.

I know that it is the beginner's fiy and I have tied a few in my times-
-but I cannot f*-in see to tie a size 12 or 14 fly anymore
and I am not too happy about that.
I also, a long time ago decided, that w my leisure time - I would rather
play abnd study music than tie flies - my choice
But as I get older - I have no choice now but to buy'em
Just a thought, but if you can find some kid who has an interest in
learning to tie, buy the materials, show them how and then as payment
for the flies you want, either give them your vise and materials (if you
no longer wish to tie at all) or supply them a good basic setup, like an
"A" and the basic tools. If it'll work for you, it'll work out for all
concerned.

R
