Default river bass

What types of areas are you fishing in the river? Bass in a river
system hold in different areas than bass on a lake out of comfort and
necessity. Find back waters out of the main river channel, or Wing dams
off the main (and confluence) areas. Some times river fishing for bass
is much easier than lake fishing for them, because they are more
predictable. I say sometimes, because there are times when water
conditions will completely change the whole scenario (not unlike lake
conditions), but constant moving water, if you pay attention to your
surrounding can usually give away prime areas. Find areas where the
bass can both feed, and conserve energy at the same time. It doesn't
make sense for them to sit face into the fastest current using all their
energy to hold themselves in place. They will look for ambush areas
right out of the current and jump out and snag food as it comes by. The
nice thing about river bass is that they are not "as" affected by
weather changes as lake fish.
