I know plenty of guides, and held the price sheet from Simms in my own hot
little hands about two years ago. I'm not sure if it was 40% or 50%, but
it was one of those. So far as I know, just about every major manufacturer
in the industry, rods, reels, waders, etc., offers substantial discounts to
guides, as each guide is essentially a walking advertisement.

In fact, the guy who showed me the price list was trying to talk me into
getting a NY guiding license, and pulled out a stack of price lists to make
his argument more compelling.
