Just wondering if any of you have tried using the Specrta.etc styles lines
as backing.I figure something quite heavy say a 60lb so it wil not have a
tendency to cut into your fingers.Polyester backing has about the same cost
at the Blue box store.Appreciate it. Thanks Marty

Cortland Micron can be had in 20# or 30# breaking strength, comes in different
colors (so you can have your last 50 yards be something that'll let you know
you might be in trouble ;-) is unlikely to damage snakes, strippers and
tiptops, seems to last forever, and can be blind spliced so neatly you'll
never even know when a splice zips through the guides ('cept for a color
change)...

I can't think of a good reason to not use Micron for backing.
