Default Superline as backing

I use PowerPro as well for fishing the surf. I generally don't need
all that backing except that once in a while an unexpectedly large
fish will take the fly. It does not damage the equipment but I do
wear finger protection.

and not so thin that it will cut your hands or cause problems with slumping

Just wondering if any of you have tried using the Specrta.etc styles lines
as backing.I figure something quite heavy say a 60lb so it wil not have a
tendency to cut into your fingers.Polyester backing has about the same
cost at the Blue box store.Appreciate it. Thanks Marty
