So why not just use black?


Because the Natural Shad color also works great in gin clear water too.
Some of us don't always have the option of going to the lake and checking
out the conditions before we go to the lake, so we can't always be prepared
for every circumstance. By knowing about alternatives that work you have
one more weapon in your arsenal to meet unexpected conditons. This bait
color is one that meets two radically different purposes.

I carry everything I own every time I go fishing. Also - black is one
of my best colors in clear water, too.
