bass after rain

mountain trout fishing after a rain is usually active as bugs have been
washed into stream.
Being new to bass fishing I jumped into my kayak and fished my local
bass pond { 21 acre-90% under four feet] after a summer hard rain shower
yesterday. Wind was flat- water a sort of olive color- with water still
warm . Tried most baits and only got one fish"
Usually 6 or 8 per hour- around 12 inch-- How do you find fishing after
rain ? Any suggestions? Joe

I fish a private lake (50 acres) with no inlets. After a heavy rain, I
have had real good luck throwing a plastic worm right against the bank.
In my "amateur" opinion, the bass might think that after a rain the
banks supply them with an abundance of worm creatures. This works
especially well for me when the rain is heavy, and the lake is up into
the grass...the shallower the better! My best plastic for these
conditions has been a "smoke" colored straight tail, but "chocolate /
neon blue" comes in a strong second, followed by "peanut butter and
jelly".

Just my personal experience.....
