In Ontario where I've fished every year since 1976 (an ice age lake
carved from rock by mother nature) there's a cove where I love to top
fish. There's a steep ledge dropping from shore to 30' within 10' from
the bank. I love to use Torpdoes (a small topper with a propeller)
casting right onto the bank & jerking it in small spurts back to the
boat. I've caught Smallies to 6lbs. & had a largie of at least 10 lbs
(unheard of this far north) knock my lure 3' out of the water & giving
my brother & me a good look at this giant. I use Pop Rs, Jitterbugs
etc., but the torpedo is awesome. We catch some big pike, but they're to
Smallies as powerlifters are to gymnasts. powerful but no class. LOL
Anyone have a fave lure you want to brag about???
I have over 100 top water lures in my tackle box. 20 of them are Devils
Horse Dancers and my favorite color is the yellow with black stripes.
As far as top water goes I've caught more bass on that lure and color
combination than any other top water plug. So my favorite TWP is a
Devils Horse in case that isn't already apparent.
I should mention I fish in North Florida.
