Hi guys,
My setup (see below) gives me from daybreak to around 2 pm or so. This is
not cutting it for me. It is a new battery as of January, the water is at
proper levels, and I always charge it back up right away.
There is enough room to mount another battery or is there a single battery
solution (make and model) that I should know about?
My first reaction was to diss your Interstate battery. I've had bad luck
with that brand. However, realistically a single battery probably won't
have the capacity you want regardless of the brand. Two batteries in
parrallel would work better. If you want to try and stay with one you could
go with a high quality group 30/31 battery but not knowing what you are
hoping to achieve I would say that would probably only give you another
couple hours of fishing time. Yout thought that you should have two
batteries is probably the best option.
Another note.... 24V TMs tend to be more efficient at the same net output
than 12V TM. Variable speed TMs also seem to work better than multi speed
TMs. So... that may be something to keep in mind for the future.
