My favorite 3wt for small stream fishing is a 7.5ft Winston IM6
paired with a Hardy Featherweight. On bigger, more open streams
and from my canoe I prefer a 9ft 3wt Winston IM6. I put a Hardy
JLH Ultralite 2/3/4 on that rod. In general, the longer the rod
the better so long as you have room to cast it.
