I find myself in Lewisburg, Pennsylavia, where some people are trying
to convince my wife to move (hopefully with me and the kids)......
East Machias Jim (formerly of Memphis)
Well, Jim, you are in trout-fishing luck!! To the West of
Lewisburg you can easily get to the one and only Penn's
Creek. Follow route 45 and turn left at Hartleton(stop in
at fellow roffian Bruce Fisher's Penn's Creek Angler
for detailed creek info), Woodward or Millheim to access
major points on the creek.
Bruce has some nice basic info at:
www.pennscreekangler.com
and yes, the Clave is still an annual late-May tradition.
2008 dates will be discussed over steaks and lies next weekend!! Right now,
the creek is very low and clear,
but fall angling can be very good once some colder rains
and weather arrive. BTW, other great fishing streams near enough to
Lewisburg would include: Big Fishing Creek,
White Deer Run, Elk Creek, Fishing Creek(Benton),
the Loyalsock Creek and Pine Creek, just to name the larger ones. Small
brook trout streams are too numerous to name, and far too secret to reveal
in a Usenet group.
