Hi,
Maybe I'm dating myself as I'm in my 70's now, but, boy, Orvis sure doesn't
seem to be the outfit it once was. ...
Yeah, I guess you are dating yourself. Why would you need a
paper catalog just to use a gift certificate ? Orvis has a
fully functional and quite complete web based catalog that
is easy to browse and order from. Welcome to the 21st century,
or wait for the US post office to deliver bulk mail, your
choice.
Mayhap he views catalogs as do I -- sit near the fire, a couple ounces
of single malt at hand, and browse.
If you know the name, address, part number, and model, on-line can be
efficient. Some of life's pleasures, however, do not depend on
efficiency.
If they all did, I would use PowerBait.
That's all nice enough and once Robert starts getting Orvis
paper catalogs he will continue to get them just like clockwork.
The problem here is that Robert is badmouthing Orvis for a
post office issue. Catalogs are not sent first class mail, they
go out bulk mail and waiting two months to get on a catalog
mailing list in the first place and than actually receiving a
catalog through bulk mail is not a long time to wait. If he's
in that a big a hurry he should use his gift certificate online.
I like paper catalogs better than web pages too but I'd go ahead
and use the web if I was gonna get my little tightie whities all
in a wad about an unused gift certificate.
