Default San Juan Reservations December 6-9

I just returned from a weekend at the San Juan and the fishing was off and
on and really interesting. Sunday was less windy and you could fish dries
all day if you were so inclined and willing to walk. At times the fish
weren't eating and there were decent midge hatches and an amazing baetis
hatch on Sunday. It was crowded. The water's a little tinted but you could
still sight fish in the shallower water. Thankfully it didn't take too long
to catch that last fish and I got back to Chuck's big truck before dark.

On to the December 6-9 mini Clave:

If you're thinking of attending you should make reservations sometime soon
at Rizuto's http://www.rizutos.net

The Juan's not everyone's cup of tea but it's always interesting and quite
often frustrating. We don't have anything planned except a barbeque,
probably Saturday evening, and fishing and fly tying. Even if you don't
like tailwaters it's worth the trip just to watch Willi catch every fish in
the river :-)

And if you need flies or have any questions my real email is n i n e f o o

Everyone is welcome of course.

Bruce and Guys,
After you, I was the second person to reserve a room at Chucks. I have half a
room available if someone wants to split with a grumpy whiskey drinker. Ran
into a neat variation of that #22 red midge larva in Colorado this summer. Will
shoot you a coupla pics if you want to see it. Need a bunch of those BTW. Was
at the Juan the third week of September and had a great time with #22 PMD
dries; not so good with #22 black Midge dries. Never tried PMDs, shoulda! My
sweetheart, my child bride was really upsetting me by tying on #14 yellow Wooley
Buggers and Grasshoppers and catching fish every other cast. I finally tied on
a yellow/red #14 Bugger and had some creature nail it and bust off ALL my
terminal tackle within three seconds of it hitting the water. Have new lines on
all my rods and am looking forward to this Clave now that I can stand up and
walk and talk.
