Assuming you have an Orvis store near by, you might stop in and check
pricing and sales.
I recently bought this waist pack:

For the money they were asking, I wanted to check out the pack before
purchasing. On the Orvis website, the pack was listed at $129.00, when I
got out to the store, the price was mark at $98.00. I figured it would be
the same price that they had listed on the website and I don't think that
was a sales price either.

While at the store, I did look through the clothing and it seemed pricey,
however as David pointed out, the quality and style will outlast the cheap
route.

Having never owned any clothing with the Orvis label, I can't speak to the
issue of their quality versus that of any other brand. However, the matter
of style leaves me somewhat perplexed. How is it that Orvis clothing
remains in style longer than that of any other retailer who sells the same
styles?
