Would Have Been The Best Trip

My boys and I had a few small fishing trips when they were much younger and
we had some good times. As the years passed and they grew into their teens
they became distracted by other interests, especially girls. We were close
but did not share the same passion for fishing. My youngest son is in
college now and is pursuing a degree. My oldest son and I were struggling
with our relationship over the past few years, mostly due to his problems
with substance abuse. But he was home with Sheree and I so we could at
least look after him, and try to help him.
About three weeks ago my oldest son Chris approached me while watching the
Skins play one Sunday. He said he would like to go with me soon and try fly
fishing, he thought it looked like fun and it would be an opportunity for us
to share time. It would no doubt have been the first of many trips for us
to mend our differences.
Unfortunately my son Christopher passed away Saturday morning to an apparent
overdose. It would have been my best trip ever...

I want to say...but I have no words
For the first time in my life, I can't complete my sentence
Peace upon you, Tony.
And, thank you for having the courage to share this and for bringing me
to my knees.
