Default Do black dyed materials seem thinner, sparser...?

I notice that the black dyed tying material that I have, hair, feathers,

If so any speculation as to why?

It is because of the difficulty in hot dyeing materials jet black. The
dyebath has to be hotter, more acid is required, and more dye. This
damages the material irreparably. Also many black dyed materials are
not colour fast anyway, and the dye will come off on your fingers.
This is a result of using too much dye in the bath, and not getting it
hot enough.

Cold dyed materials donīt suffer from this problem.
