Okay, they done screwed up. I am now the President Elect of the
Cornhusker Fly Fishers.
Can Admiral of the Nebraskan navy be far behind......?
Seriously, congratulations. On my recent cross-country road
trip, I was pleasantly surprised by how, well, pleasant, Nebraska
was. No doubt have some fine gentlemanly fish there too.
Friendly folks too. We're expecting an ice storm tomorrow. The folks
on my cul de sac had an ad hoc get together and inventoried chainsaws,
towing straps, and the like. This all in the middle of a frisbee game
in 30 degree weather.
The club is about 120 members strong and 60 plus show up for any given
meeting. We get involved in brush clean up around lakes, youth
fishing education, casting for the cure, fly tying and casting lessons
and demonstrations, and many other things. We have members from age 8
to 96, men and women. Oh, by the way, you'll never go hungry at any
one of our meetings. These folks can do some serious cooking. Also,
we do trips to the surrounding states and we've a big one to Alaska
planned for 2009.
All in all, there are worse places to be a fly fisherman.
