A character, for sure, though the hatred (not too strong a word, I think)
that he used to engender was pretty intense at times. I felt sorry for him
at times, seeking then receiving such derision, but everyone who reached out
to him, sought him out to fish, traded flies, etc., wound up being hurt. It
was sad, and I hope he's in a better place, and feeling better about those
around him. He didn't seem like a happy man....
