My guess is if you had been "dragged" there by someone other than your
daughter, your post would have been derogatory and would have referred
to the "rampant commercialism, exploitation and shameless
self-promotion" etc. Surprising what a different point of view can do!

Congrats on your daughter having an interest in fly fishing. That should
be something you share throughout your life. Like many fathers and sons,
my Dad and I had our differences, and a love of fishing was one of the
few things we could share. Times out fishing with my Dad are my fondest
memories of him.

Unfortunately, fewer and fewer young people have an interest in outdoor
related activities.

The last time I went to the FF show was about 3 years ago with my
friend Tom. It was crowded and not a great experience. That was the
year George was there with his ******* rods. I really regret not
introducing myself.
