I'll be in Chile in March for about ten days, so I'll see what else I
can find out.

Pay special attention to the need to speak Spanish ... I don't and that is
my greatest fear. Certainly, your lodge/ outfitter/ guide will speak
English but I'm more concerned about communication away from 'built for
tourists' situations ... I'd 'guess' that someone with some English
would usually be able to be found and paid, if necessary, to translate in
vital situations. But if life would be impossible without Spanish or
high-priced guides, I'll have to forget the idea of Patagonia :-(

I know from my reading, that English teachers are much sought after in
Chile .... and not just for kids schools ... there are a lot of adult
businessmen that want to learn it to better function in a global economy.
My kid is an English major/ Spanish minor is the reason I've taken note of
all this..... might be a good gig for him while he's young

yo hablo.....

.....hi guys!
