I'm also from MA, so I don't know a whole lot about RI. The only trout
stream I have heard of there is the Wood River. Your best bet would be
to look up the nearest TU chapter. Also, I think there is a book
available on trout streams in southern New England. I think Tom Fuller
is the author, but I'm not 100% sure. Given the limited options, maybe
you'd want to consider sal****er.

Hey - it's almost like Spring outside. Okay, give me just a moment to figure
out one of these book-thingies. Hmmmm, OH! Sorry - had it upside down. Yep,
Tom Fuller it is. HEY! This one has a table of contents! Rhode Island, Rhode
Island, . . . here it is. Wow! Did you know that's a small state? Says here
there have been quite a few improvements (1999 copyright) on the Blackstone,
but you're pretty much in an urban setting. Also says that RI regs prohibit
fishing in March, with the season running from the second Saturday in April
through the end of February. So much for that weekly jaunt, eh?

According to this book (the pictures, I mean . . . hell, does anyone read
the words?), the Clear River can produce some good fishing, as well as the
Chepachet, Ponaganset, Moosup, Falls, and, last but not least, Wood River.
From what I read (yeah, when forced, I can), I'd start by exploring the Wood
River first.

.. . . and pick up this book - there are plenty more right next door in CT.
