The answer to your question is the tails should be a blue dun,
grey will do. the thread should match the thorax/head color which
could be anywhere from pink to dark blue dun. It's not that big a
deal,
olive is probably just as good.
As far as tails vs. shucks, I love the shucks but I've had fish
refuse them
and slam the tailed version the next cast, so I think you need both
even though I hate doing the split tails.
