OK, I will ammend my comment on 7 wt's being useless........IMHO I feel
that the 6 wt will almost do everthing for the smallmouth fly person,
but in my way of thinking (no crack here-just lipitor) a line weight
jump in increments of one usually just makes a marginal
difference.......from a 6 to a 8 will always conquer the problem, be it
wind, weight of fly or distance. Many swear by the 7 wt / Orvis had an
all arounder years back (the model) in that weight it covered all
situations but not all that well. All I know is what works for
me.......F/T
