orange cast to it.....something like looking at the setting sun through
smoke, though much fainter, of course. Sort of a translunar sunset. Made
me wonder what the view from up there back toward here might be like.

It was really good here in Massachusetts. I've been out walking for the
past hour and I stopped at a neighbor's house to take a peek through his
telescope. As the shadow was lifting I could actually watch the light
advancing across the surface features. Nice clear cold night too.
