uh...not exactly...

jeff (vacations several times a year...fishes some every month of the
year...and dusk to dawn generally offers the best light...)

yeah, yeah...i know...dawn to dusk...but at least i'm not bitter... and
it had potential for humor.

jeff (in the dark about a whole lot more than just fishing) g

Guess what - in many cases, dusk to dawn DOES provide the "best light"
for catching...hey, fishing can be done 24/7/365, in all sorts of
weather...

TC,
R

though i've done it and observed it, other than when walking the
shallows with a lamp and attempting to gig flounder (haven't done that
in decades, but it was fun), i hate night fishing. tough to tie knots,
see casts, spot the take, etc. it just don't do it for me. and, i have
enough trouble ambulating in daylight hours. but...dawn to dusk, i'm
there with any that want to try to solve the mystery...

jeff

Actually, I was thinking more of a full moon kinda thing, esp. on the
blue/green - it provides plenty of light - rather than just FFing, for
trout or otherwise.

TC,
R

ah...yup, there is that... i have aspirations to do an overnight on the
gulf stream...but, my boat is a bit small and i've never been sure
enough of the wakefullness of my mates, sufficient fuel, or the
winds/waves. plenty of light on the boat to take care of my own night
blindness, but lots of big ships out there, and the weather off the
outer banks is more fickle than a woman in hot flash... still, the
gossip of full moon marlin and my nearness to the end-times has me
tempted to give it a go ...
