I used to think Tim was a bit of a crackpot until I started reading the
works of Ted Kerasote, who speaks eloquently of respecting the animals you
harvest (and it's not nice to play with your food). I still primarily
practice catch and release fishing, but I don't feel as smug and
self-righteous about it as I used to. Damn you Walker!

Sorry 'bout that. For me it was probably Thomas McGuane but also, that
one incident I had, that I still can't shake, is that 14" wild trout
that sliced it's gut from stem to stern like it had been cleaned, on
barbed wire or glass, while playing it, that started some serious
introspection that has not waivered an iota since.
