Saw West Branch of Delaware flow at roughly 1700 CFS. Very big release
going on. I guess this is part of the 8 billion gallon draw down for
flood mitigation purposes. Interestingly 8 billion is but a drop in
the bucket given the capacity of Cannonsville, Pepacton and Neversink
have a combined capacity of around 275 billion gallons.
If my calculations serve me correctly, at these levels the planned 8
billion gallon drawdown will take 8 to 9 days (at 1500 CFS).
Does anyone know if this release part of that draw down? Is the
drawdown plan to release at these levels until the 8 billion is
reached? Is there a void at Cannonsville they are targeting?
