Those don't work very well, IMO. They don't have enough buoyancy to hold
up heavy weight, which sometimes you need. In a "pinch" you can put on
more than one.

I sometimes use small pinch-on indicators when I'm fishing a tiny dry
fly in difficult seeing conditions. It helps to spot the fly (my vision
isn't good), but it's annoying when the fish hit the indicator instead
of the fly. :-)

The Fish Pimps my choice. The only problem with them is that they tend
to wear out and come off, littering the stream. Use fresh ones. They're
pretty cheap.

Polypropylene yarn works well, too. It's very sensitive, but it's harder
to move up and down and more difficult to tie on. Tends to kink the
leader when you move it. Also harder to cast in the wind.
