soft jerkbaits
That's a GREAT idea! I'll try it. In the small 8 acre pond I fish, I'm
sure they are getting weary of my lures, I like to switch them up and this
sounds like a good one. Now all I need is a swimbait that's 4-5 inches long
and doesn't sink like a rock...

I know it sounds counterproductive, but when you're not hooking up on a
soft jerkbait try just nose hooking it. I've been fishing soft jerkbaits
since -- well hell, I coined the term soft jerkbait in an In-Fisherman
article on 1987 -- but after getting my rump kicked by a couple friends
who were fishing it that way, I only started the nose hooking thing a
couple years ago but when the cover allows rigging that way, I'll do it
every time these days.
