Back in the late 50s i had a rod and reel that was all one piece. the
reel was enclosed, silver and shaped sort of like a bullett. i
remember you turned the handle back to release it. i know from where
the rod fit into the reel casing it was completely silver down to the
bottom. can someone tell me who made these. dont fish much but just
sort of thought i might get me one like i had i think around 1957. .
thanks for reading and any help you can provide.
I had one as well, but in the early fifties. Don't remember the
manufacturer, but I think it was purchased at Western Auto. Didn't use
it all that much, as that was just abour the time I caught the
flyfishing bug.
Could it have been a promotional item? My grandfather got a single shot
12ga, Western Arms shotgun from a Western Auto sometime during the '50's.
Free with a certain purchase amount. Just a thought. I've been told they
(the shotguns) were mass produced by ??? and stamped for several brands.
