He is probably right......you don't need those hooks to catch fish or to be
a great fly fisher.
I actually did not refer to anything about the reality of catching fish with
these hooks, I was talking about the very serious matter of surviving in
today's market place in CA, not in the Ozarks or Stanley, ID.

Fortenberry says that someone he knows, who is easily the best
flyfishman in Montana and New Zealand combined, only uses Mustad hooks
because the cheesy Japanese hooks are so weak that they bend and cause
pullouts. So that settles that. Please pay attention, Bill. :-)
