Everyone seems to have a fish story to share, especially of the "one that
got away."
Keith Setty of Lynchburg has a whale of a tale to tell, with pictures to
prove it.
Setty's catch, in Clermont County, will likely be the first Ohio State
Record Blue Catfish.
The big catch came at 4:00 am, Sunday, June 29, near the Meldahl Lock and
Dam.
Using cut shad for bait, Setty reeled in a Blue Catfish weighing 57
pounds,
3.2 ounces. The fish measures 45.5 inches.
Until last year, Blue Catfish weren't eligible for records in Ohio because
the state considered them to be endangered.
The official determination on the record is expected in a few days.
